Our safeguarding policy outlines how we protect students, respond to concerns, and maintain a safe environment across all SASCA activities.
Our Policies
We have developed the following policies to ensure a safe and professional environment across all SASCA Academy activities.
Code of Conduct (Staff & Volunteers)
Our staff and volunteers follow a clear code of conduct designed to protect every student.
It outlines professional boundaries, communication expectations, respectful behaviour, and the standards required to create a safe, positive learning environment.

Photography & Media Policy
We take great care when capturing or sharing images and videos of students.
Media is only used with explicit parental consent, and all content is stored securely in line with safeguarding expectations.

Safer Recruitment Statement
SASCA Academy follows safer recruitment procedures for all staff and volunteers.
This includes DBS checks, reference verification, safeguarding interviews, and ongoing training to ensure the highest standards of care.

Whistleblowing Statement
We encourage anyone with concerns about staff behaviour or safeguarding practice to speak up.

Safeguarding at SASCA
Your child’s safety and wellbeing are our highest priority. SASCA provides a supportive, nurturing environment where every young person can learn and perform with confidence. Our safeguarding approach is led by a Designated Safeguarding Lead with over 15 years of professional safeguarding training and experience, ensuring that our standards are strong, up‑to‑date and taken seriously across the whole academy.
What Parents Can Expect
Trained and vetted staff — all tutors and team members receive safeguarding training and hold enhanced DBS checks.
Clear boundaries and safe practice — we follow strict professional guidelines to keep every child safe during classes, rehearsals and performances.
A culture of respect — students are encouraged to speak up, ask for help and feel supported at all times.
Secure communication — we only contact parents and students through approved channels and never share personal information without consent.
Safe online behaviour — we teach and model responsible digital use and protect students’ privacy in all media and online spaces.
